Here are pictures of the mom and dad mini dachshunds.  The mom is mostly white (bottom picture).  The dad has a long thick coat. A nice looking couple I think. 

Tough Choice

I talked with the breeder today and she said that she is having a hard time choosing a puppy for herself.  She said that there is usually one that stands out to her but she keeps changing her mind with these three.  She asked if I had a preference as that might help her out.  Since I haven't met them, I told her I could not help.  I do get to go see them on Monday the 30th!  I hope that will make my choice easier.  I will also be able to bring a stuffed animal to leave for a week so the puppy can bring her mom's scent home with her on May 8th.  Here is a picture of the middle size pup that I think the breeder is leaning toward.  She is the only one she dressed up that I know of.  :)

Here is a picture of Asti's human sister.  She was not in favor of adding a puppy to the household but hopefully Asti will forgive her.

Doxie ramp

Since reading up on miniature dachshunds, my dad built a ramp for the new puppy to get on the bed.  This helps protect the fragile backs of these dogs by keeping them from jumping.

Cat siblings

Here are Asti's soon to be siblings.  I hope they give her a warm welcome.  Elvis is the long hair male - age 8, Cali is the orange female - age 9, and Phoenix is the tiger and white male - age 9 (litter mate to Cali).

Which will it be?

Right now, I have not seen my new puppy in person, or even know which of the three girls she is.  The breeder will be taking the first pick and then I will get to choose from the remaining two.  I know it will be a tough choice.  Here are their individual pictures.

First puppy and first blog

Today I decided to try blogging and created this blog about Asti.  I have two more weeks to go before I can bring her home.
